Hunter/Jumper News: In Brief

The United States Hunter Jumper Association
by Jaslyn Law

Last summer, the United States Hunter Jumper Association, Inc. (USHJA) was voted as the national affiliate for hunters and the international affiliate for jumpers by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF). This competition year (2005), competitors in USEF recognized hunter/jumper shows have to be members of both the USEF and the USHJA.

USHJA membership costs $55 for seniors and $45 for juniors. USEF membership is $40 for seniors and $35 for juniors, plus an additional $15 discipline fee for seniors.

Those who are not members of one or both of these organizations are required to pay non-member fees if competing in open hunter/jumper divisions at USEF-recognized shows.
