2005 Winter Training List and Rolex Kentucky
By Sally Spickard

The United States Equestrian Federation has named the horses and riders named to the 2005 Winter Training List, a list of pairs who are expected to benefit the most from the High Performance training program directed by Captain Mark Phillips as well as other selected jumper and dressage trainers. Named participants include Darren Chiachia and Windfall II, Gina Miles and McKinlaigh, and Amy Tryon and Poggio, My Beau, and Woodstock.

The 2005 Rolex Kentucky CCI**** event will continue to be run in its traditional CCI**** format, which includes all four phases of cross country. The competition's board had been debating whether or not to eliminate the Roads & Tracks and the Steeplechase phases of cross country, but they decided in favor of the traditional format in order to better test the skills of the horse and rider combinations. It was also announced that the 2005 Rolex will again be televised on NBC, a huge step for the sport.
